Christina Cornelis (1962) was born in Zeeland, the Netherlands. As a child, she followed painting lessons from artist Cees van Langevelde at his Vlooswijk atelier in Terneuzen. Since 2006, she has picked up painting again, taking lessons from renowned watercolour artists such as Kees van Aalst, Xavier Swolfs, Marielle Gallo, David Chauvin, and Ewa Karpinska. After living in Yorkshire for several years, she returned to the Netherlands.

Christina paints primarily watercolour and gouache seasides and landscapes. She tries to create an atmosphere or reflect a thought or emotion by using light, space, rhythm and colour in her work. She paints both in a figurative and abstract style. She also makes pastels and charcoal drawings.

Christina exhibits her artwork regularly. Her artwork can be found in private collections in the Netherlands, Yorkshire, London, Paris, New York and China. She can be contacted via email christinasgallery@exto.nl
